MCAF Response to Syrian Refugee Crisis
(Call for Volunteers)
Syria’s civil war is the worst humanitarian tragedy of our time. Almost 12 million Syrians are either refugees or internally displaced. The Government of Canada has committed to resettle Syrian refugees through the Government Assisted Refugee process. The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) has requested over 1.15 million refugee resettlement spaces to assist in the crisis.
MCAF is currently seeking Arabic Interpreters / Translators for Syrian Refugees. Interpreters may provide interpretation / translation for the immediate resettlement needs of newcomers, including:
- • Information sessions,
• Doctors’ appointments,
• Parent/Teacher Interview, etc.
We are currently in the process of identifying housing stock available in our community in preparation for the arrival of Syrian refugees. Please go to the following link and fill the questionnaire to help us build the list of available housing stock.
